- In a cooker add roasted yellow moong dal add 1 cup of water and close the cooker lid and cook the moong Daal, after pressure releases add roasted seviya and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. - add milk and sugar nutmeg powder,cardamom powder and cook well. - Finally roasted the cashew nuts in ghee and pour it in a seviya pongal and mix it well. Seviya pongla is ready you can serve it with serve with medu vada (urad dal vadai)
Pongal is traditionally made on clay pots set on wood fire. Its still made the same way in the country side of Tamilnadu.
