  1. Take Flour in a container add Semolina, Ajwain, salt, sesame, oil, Asafoetida. Add 3/4 Cup water and knead a stiff dough.
  2. Knead the dough for 5 minutes. Keep it aside to rest for 15 minutes. Knead for 2 to 3 minutes. Make small balls and roll it softly between palms softly.
  3. Place heavy bottom tawa on medium high flame on gas. Place a wheat strainer on it place bati in it and cover it and cook for 10 minutes. Turn the side and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Keep on changing sides and cook for 20 to 25 minutes till it is light pink in colour and looks crispy.
  5. Pressure Cook presoaked dal. See to it that the dal doesn't get mashed. Take oil+ ghee in a kadai. Add Jeera, Onion, tomatoes, Ginger Garlic Green Chillies. Asofetida and roast for 3 to 4 minutes. Add all dry masalas and mix well Add 1 cup water and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Add boiled dal and water if required. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Garnish with Coriander
  7. Dal bati is ready to be served. Serve it with garlic and green chilli chutney.
