  1. Put semolina in a pan and dry roast while stirring it for 4-5 minutes on medium flame and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan and put mustard in it.
  2. When the seeds begin to crack, add urad dal, curry leaves and green chillies and fry them for a few seconds on medium flame. Add onion and fry it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame.
  3. After adding the roasted semolina, 3 cups hot water and salt and mix well, close the lid and cook it on low flame for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring in the middle.
  4. Turn the upma over the plate. Immediately serve
