Aloo paratha are Indian breakfast flatbreads made with whole wheat flour, mashed potatoes, spices & herbs. These flavorful and delicious stuffed parathas are a staple in many North Indian households. These are most commonly topped with white butter and served alongside pickle and yogurt.

Aloo Paratha is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. They’re nice and they look wonderful. Aloo Paratha is something which I’ve loved my entire life.

The ingredients needed to make Aloo Paratha:
  1. Take 4-5 small potatoes (i used red potatoes, that makes perfect stuffing)
  2. Prepare 1 small onion
  3. Prepare 2-3 curry leaves(chop them)
  4. Prepare as needed Ginger paste
  5. Get Garlic paste
  6. Make ready as required Cumin seeds
  7. Prepare few Chopped coriander for garnishing
  8. Prepare pieces Green chilli chopped into smal
  9. Make ready 1 tsp Dried fenugreek leaves(kasuri methi)
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp Amchur powder
  11. Make ready 1/2 tsb Kitchen king masala
  12. Get Garam masala
  13. Get as per taste Salt
  14. Take as required Oil
  15. Get Ghee
  16. Take Chapati dough
  17. Get 1 tsp Lemon juice

Heat a medium skillet over medium. Aloo paratha is One of the most popular paratha recipe from Punjab, India. This delicious Punjabi aloo paratha is one of the most loved breakfast at my place. One of the first recipes I learnt from my Punjabi mother-in-law and I have been making these tasty parathas for years now.

Instructions to make Aloo Paratha:
  1. Boil potatoes into cooker up-to 1 whistle.I used small Red potatoes,they tend to get boiled faster.
  2. After potatoes are cool peel their skin and mashed them.In a pan take 2 tbs oil and add cumin seeds,let it crackle now add in chopped onion,let it cook until translucent.Add in ginger garlic and green chilli.Cook for another 30 seconds.Now add all the masala and lemon juice.Garnish with chopped coriander.Stuffing is all ready.
  3. Take one medium size of chapati dough,roll it in a size of puri,add in stuffing and bring all edges together and press it.Now softly roll it into paratha.Now add it onto a pan and roast on both sides applying ghee.Aloo paratha is all ready to serve with curd,green chilli pickle and mango pickle.I love them with ranch too.Enjoy hot.

Aloo paratha is served with yogurt or raita,mint chutney or coriander chutney and pickle on side. Tips on making aloo paratha without breaking: The dough needs to be soft and smooth. If the dough is not smooth then it will give hard time rolling. If the dough is hard (not soft) then it will break while rolling and stuffing will come out from. Aloo Paratha is one of my favorite Paratha.
