- Cut the jackfruit in pieces and remove seeds from it.
- Grind onions, green chillies, ginger and garlic together to make fine paste.
- Grind tomatoes to make paste.
- Put these jackfruit pieces in a cooker and add some water, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder.
- Boil it up to one whistle and let the steam end by itself. Remove water from jackfruit.
- Now heat butter in a pan and add cumin seeds. Now add onion paste and saute till onion get changed to light brown colour.
- Now add tomato paste and again saute for 5 mins. The mixture will leave butter on it's sides.
- Now add turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder and mix well. Saute for 2 mins. Then put jackfruit pieces and water in it and mix well.
- Cover with a lid and let it cool for another 5 mins. After 5 mins add kasoori methi and mix well.
- Yummy kathal butter masala is ready to serve.
