The ingredients needed to make Coconut burfi:
  1. Get 400 gms desiccated coconut powder
  2. Make ready 200 gms condensed milk
  3. Make ready 1 tsp cardamom powder
  4. Prepare 1 tsp ghee

Fresh grated coconut in cardamom flavoured sugar syrup. Coconut Burfi is made with coconut powder combined with a cardamom flavored sugar syrup. This is a scrumptious dessert or snack. Coconut burfi / thengai burfi is very easy to make and only with few ingredients.

Steps to make Coconut burfi:
  1. In a thick bottom, pan add 1 tsp ghee and add desiccated coconut powder and mix it on sim flame for around two minutes.
  2. Now add condensed milk to the desiccated coconut powder and mix the mixture properly, the flame should be at sim throughout the process, add a spoon of cardamom powder and mix it well on sim flame for two to three minutes.
  3. Now grease a pan with ghee and pour the mixture in it and set it spactula. Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes apply chandi wark (optional) sprinkle some almond flakes and cut it into pieces.
  4. Yummy instant coconut burfi is ready.

Easy step by step photos method, without sugar syrup consistency. I wonder why I have not attempted to make this. Coconut Burfi / Thengai Burfi is hubbys fav and my MIL is an expert in making this. To me she makes the best coconut burfis - perfect in texture and shape too. As diwali is nearing, I wanted to try this.
