Cook over low flame until the keerai is cooked and slightly wilted. Ponnanganni Keerai is called as "Dwarf Copperleaf" in English is a green variety available throughout the year. - Wash the leaf and keep aside. Slice the onion thinly and keep aside.
- Heat oil in kadai add mustard, cumin, channa dal and urad dal. Once both dals roasted add broken red chilli and curry leaves.
- Now add sliced onion and saute until onion turns brown. Now add hing and turmeric.
- Add ponnankanni leaf and salt. Close with lid and cook in medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Don't add water.
- When you are ready to switch off the flame add grated coconut and mix. Serve hot with sambar rice..
