Fresh grated coconut in cardamom flavoured sugar syrup. Coconut Burfi is made with coconut powder combined with a cardamom flavored sugar syrup. This is a scrumptious dessert or snack. Coconut burfi / thengai burfi is very easy to make and only with few ingredients.

Instructions to make Coconut burfi:
  1. Take a pan. Put sugar and water to make sugar syrup. Sugar syrup should be of 2 thread consistency.
  2. Add yellow colour, cardomom powder and grated coconut. Mix properly.
  3. Now add milk powder. Mix everything properly.
  4. Cook for 2 minutes or till you get the desired consistency.
  5. Switch off the flame. Add one tbsp ghee to it. Mix quickly.
  6. Prepare a tray by greasing it with rest of the ghee.
  7. Pour the coconut mixture in the tray.
  8. Press it with your hands to make it even from all sides.
  9. Sprinkle chopped almonds and chironji over it.
  10. Let it rest for 1/2 hour. Cut into desired shape.
  11. Your coconut burfi is ready to serve.
